Brunswick Laboratories, the leading commercial laboratory specializing in the science of antioxidants and oxidative stress, has moved to a new location. Brunswick had occupied its facilities in Wareham, MA since its inception in 1997. However, its new offices in Norton, MA provide improved laboratory and executive capacity.

Brunswick CEO Jim Nichols is excited about the move. "Brunswick Labs continues to expand as consumer recognition and acceptance of ORAC grows. Our new facilities allow Brunswick to provide even better quality assurance to our customers and accelerate the pace of our ongoing R&D program."

The Norton facilities are home to important new analytical equipment. Brunswick has added two state-of-the-art Shimadzu 20A HPLC systems and an API 4000 Q TRAP LC/MS/MS system. This industry-standard system brings high-performance quantification and identification to every phase of a pharmaceutical-grade development process, from discovery to clinical research trials. Brunswick’s expanded capabilities include identifying and analyzing trace levels of novel compound matrices, mapping biomarkers, measuring the bioavailability of nutrients, antioxidants and phytochemicals, as well as pesticides and antibodies in food samples.

Brunswick Vice President Dr. Boxin Ou says that these new assets are instrumental in serving its customers’ increasingly sophisticated needs. "Our customers are now seeking pharmaceutical-grade standards in both the R&D and routine quality assurance we perform. Also, they allow us to pursue a more ambitious internal R&D program." That R&D, Dr. Ou says, includes novel compound discovery and validation of in vivo markers for antioxidant capacity and oxidative stress.
