Lipid-soluble antioxidant profile
Brunswick Laboratories is capable of quantifying the individual lipid-soluble antioxidants in natural products or physiological fluids. (See also, Individual Antioxidant Profile - Natural Products.)

Individual Antioxidant Profile - Biological Fluids
Individual antioxidant profile quantifies the specific water-soluble and lipid-soluble antioxidants in a serum or plasma sample.

Retinol (Vitamin A): An effective antioxidant, it is formed in the intestine from its precursor carotene.

Lutein: Lutein is an antioxidant found in large amounts in green, leafy vegetables such as spinach

Zeaxanthin: The most effective antioxidant against singlet oxygen

Lycopene: The most effective singlet oxygen scavenger among carotenoids.

b-Carotene: The most abundant carotenoid in serum. It is a potent antioxidant against singlet oxygen

Vitamin E: The most important lipid-soluble antioxidant in the body. It consists of 4 tocopherol and 4 tocotreniol isomers

Coenzyme Q10: also called ubiquinone. It is a component of the respiratory chain, which resides in the inner membrane of the mitochondrion. Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin E are both powerful antioxidants which prevent lipid peroxidation. Coenzyme Q10 is found in plasma where it circulates as a lipoprotein conjugate.
